Information for People who Donated after August 1991
I need to update the information but don't want to re-register as an identifiable donor. Is this possible?
It would be best to ask the clinic where you donated. You can update your information by using another HFEA Donor Insemination form. In part 1 of the form you should tick the box marked correct or change details already registered. By doing this you will not be re-registering as an identifiable donor. If you cannot find the clinic where you donated, or if it no longer exists, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) will be able to help you.
What should I do if I want to become identifiable?
Your clinic should advise you about the implications of being identifiable and should help you to find additional sources of advice and counselling before completing the re-registration form. If you cannot find the clinic where you donated, or it no longer exists, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) will be able to assist you.
